A history of success
I'm Tom Atkins, founder of Quarry House. I've been involved in sales and marketing since the 1980s.
In 1991, I was
one of the founding four of
The Whitlock Group. a start-up systems
integrator in broadcast and A/V Systems as part of the sales and marketing team
that took them from start-up to a $35M/year company. In 1998, I was privelieged
to become a
partner in charge of Sales and
Marketing for TGS, another start-up integration firm focused on High Definition
conversions of Television facilities. Over the next five years, while I was VP
of sales and marketing, TGS grew at an
average of 200% a year each year, eventually being bought by industry
giant Ascent Media. Currently, as head
of marketing for Diversified Systems, an
established leader in the integration industry, I have helped develop growth from $60M
to nearly $80M in his first two years there, despite the moribund economy of
2009-20010. I was was also a partner in
The Kingma Agency, a full service creative
agency, for a time, and continue as a strategic partner for them today.

Creativity Second, Effectiveness first
Listen
to many ad and marketing agencies, and you might think all it takes for a
successful marketing campaign is rampant creativity. And certainly creativity
is part of what I and Quarry House do. My' creative credentials include
25 years of marketing, as well as the fact that I am a poet, artist,
photographer, writer, and artist. Creativity is a centerpiece of my life and
work.
But there is another, more important side to a successful marketing plan -
simple effectiveness. There are often a wide variety of techniques and
strategies that quietly create sustainable results. This is the kind of
marketing we focus on here at Quarry House
What Sets Us Apart
Some of our clients have been ad agencies or marketing departments who needed
some of our specialized skills, such as copywriting (I am particularly skilled
at translating technology to simple and compelling benefits.) or photography. Other
clients are smaller firms who have used Quarry House as an outsourced marketing
department, creating a strategy and implementing it for them, overseeing and
producing all their materials as needed.
Our flexibility is part of what sets us apart. We are comfortable being a
small part of a corporate marketing team, or taking the lead and guiding
marketing from conception to completion. We can produce small projects
a-la-carte, or an entire campaign.
We are flexible in our clientele as well, working equally well with large
corporations as startups or ad agencies. We park our ego at the door, and work
the way you need us to work.
A Partnership mentality
At
Quarry House, we have a partnership mentality. This means two things for you,
one philosophical and one practical.
On the philosophical side, it means that we consider ourselves partners with
each of our clients. Your success is our success. We're not creative guns for
hire. We take your success personally, and treat your projects and marketing as
if it were our own.
On the practical side, it means you don't pay for what you don't need. At
Quarry House, we are allied with a host of specialized creative companies,
ranging from small designers to national PR firms. If you are a small startup,
you don't pay for a big agency with big agency overhead. But as you grow, you
don't outgrow us - we simply pull in the right partners to make sure you have
the level of expertise you need, no matter what you want to accomplish. This
makes us a cost effective, and powerful, marketing partner.
